และลดภาระต้นทุนในการนำเข้าวัตถุดิบจากต่างประเทศ
ทำให้สามารถแข่งขันกับผลิตภัณฑ์ในเชิงพาณิชย์ได้
ด้วยเหตุนี้ จึงเป็นที่มาของ
ความร่วมมือกับสถาบันวิจัยภาครัฐ ในการต่อยอดงานวิจัยและพัฒนาสมุนพรไทย
เริ่มต้นจากผลิตภัณฑ์ แคปซิกาที่มีส่วนประกอบของสาร“แคปไซซิน” (Capsaicin) ที่
สกัดได้จากพริกพันธุ์ ยอดสนเข็ม 80 ซึ่งวิจัยพัฒนาโดยมหาวิทยาลัยขอนแก่น
และเป็นลิขสิทธิ์เฉพาะของ บริษัทบางกอกแลป แอนด์ คอสเมติก จำกัด
สรรพคุณของสารสกัดจากพริก มีการออกฤทธิ์
ที่แตกต่างจากยาทาแก้ปวดที่มีอยู่ในท้องตลาด
โดยการออกฤทธิ์กระตุ้นตัวรับความรู้สึกปวดที่ปลายประสาทใต้ชั้นผิวหนัง
ทำให้สามารถยับยั้งการส่งความรู้สึกปวดต่างๆ ที่ส่งไปยังสมอง
จึงสามารถลดอาการปวดต่างๆได้อย่างครอบคลุม ทั้งอาการปวดกล้ามเนื้อ

ภก. สุวิทย์ มองว่า ถ้าทำเหมือนคนอื่นโอกาสทางการตลาดจะน้อย แต่ถ้ามีวัตถุดิบที่แตกต่าง แถมยังตรงกับแนวโน้มความต้องการของผู้บริโภคโอกาสพัฒนาผลิตภัณฑ์ให้โดดเด่น แตกต่างกว่าคู่แข่งไม่ใช่เรื่องยากแม้แต่บริษัทยาข้ามชาติที่มีสายป่านยาว
“แคปซิกาเป็นยามาตรฐานเพียงตัวเดียวที่ไม่
ต้องซื้อวัตถุดิบจากต่างประเทศ เพราะปกติแล้ว ยาที่ผลิตภายในประเทศทุกตัว
ต้องสั่งซื้อวัตถุดิบจากต่างประเทศ 100 %
เพราะเมืองไทยเรายังไม่สามารถผลิตวัตถุดิบยาแม้แต่ตัวเดียว”
